Question Buying advice D2 diesel auto

Looking to buy Discovery 2 td5 auto 99-04 model. As new to all this need your advive folks. Is it worth looking for one with ACE & was it available on 03-04 models. Same re air suspension & was it fitted front/ rear or rear only. Also D2 or D2 update whats the difference. What are the problem areas to look for. Does anyone have 99-02 & 03-04 brochures they are willing to part with as this will help me with spec's etc. Would like D3 or better still new D4 but budget wont go that far. Thanks for your help and sorry for my ignorance.

ACE and SLS (rear only) was available throughout the D2 production run as an option,,
all 7 seaters in OZ came with SLS as standard.

buy as late a model as possible,,,

just to clarify pedro's point SLS is rear only and ACE is front and back.
the update modles were mainly cosmetic, headlights tail lights.

Low K's and a full service history by a landrover specialst is the key. Once you meet the owner you'll get an even better idea of how the car has been maintained.

If you're not towing anything substantial, then you probably don't need the SLS ... if so then some polyair-bags are an option. As for ACE, don't drive it like a M3 BMW around corners and it will be fine. However, depending on the K's and amount of off-road driving it's done you could be up for new shocks and springs anyway ... that'll make a huge difference to how the truck handles under load.

ACE and SLS are just something else that COULD go wrong.... but I might feel differently if I had 'em in mine.

    Good Luck
