I've chosen my EGT monitor, but...

Which probe do I get to go with it??

I'm looking at the Auberin monitor, but am a bit unsure of which probe to get with it.

I have read that a longer probe is of more benefit to get more acurate readings, but I dont see a straight one on their site, only the longer "L" shaped ones.
It is going in the blanking plate on a TD5 Discovery,(EGR removed), but just not sure if the probe will fit in the area under the top radiator hose because of its shape.

EGT sensor with longer tip. [TC-KEGL] - $36.00 : auberins.com, Temperature control solutions for home and industry

Anyone familiar with this set up??

    Thanks,

Ill post a pic of my installation shortly.
The blanking plate is an easier job, however IMO the best spot is before the turbo as you get an overall reading, rather than just one cylinder.

It will take an extra hour to do the fitting as you need to move the turbp out of the way to clear the swarf from drilling and tapping.

Auberins offer a gauge and K type probe as a package. Whichever probe you decide on, ake sure you get that probe but with the longer leads. Mine only just made it into the cab from the exhaust manifold.

    Cheers

I have yet to cut the slot out of the front ash tray fascia for a neat appearance.

    Thanks for that strangy,

Nice job mate, thats a handy spot to put it in regards to cable length too I would imagine, as opposed the the blanking plate.
