Bubbling water noise.

Hay guys

I was driving my D2a last night and all of a sudden everytime I accelerate there is a bubbling water noise coming from the dash???? :S

it's only when I accelerate but once I get to a constant speed it's fine?

Would anyone have a clue what it could be???

Thanks in advance

Get some Nulon red from SuperCheap, Repco etc. That is compatible with what you already have.

You really need to know why you are low on coolant.

You could have air in your cooling system, if bleeding the system does not solve it, you may have to get a pressure test done. Has it ever been overheated?

What Ferret said.

Supercheap Auto or K-Mart usually carry it. Nulon Red colour coolant ... make sure it says OAT on the bottle (Organic Acid Technology).

Top up your coolant (mixed 50/50) and monitor the level daily. Stick a coke bottle over the overflow pipe from the expansion tank and tape/wire it in place ... if the system is overpressurizing and purging coolant you'll catch it in the coke bottle ... it shouldn't be purging ... if it is, your cooling system may be over-pressurizing ... a head gasket possibly. Any leaks anywhere else ? ... you'll see the red coolant stains.

Also, check the forums (search is your friend - there's stacks of info on this forum) on how to properly bleed your cooling system ... AND go to the shop link at the top of this page, and order a RAVE CD for your Disco ... Complete LR workshop manual for your Disco ! Invaluable!!

Let us know how you get on.

Td5 or V8 ??

Hi guys

Took Dan round to a friend who has a Disco2 and he had had the same problem! Same stain on the nearside of the engine which he recons gives away the fact that it is the De Ice valve and won't cost us that much (around $300) to get fixed. Definitely found coolant under the car so fortunately not a head gasket, still a pain though!
