Thread: abs/tc/hdc lights on in disco2 td5 auto

Use the search function (above to the right) and search for ABS lights or three amigoes or anything along those lines.

The three lights are all linked to a common single problem.

There is stacks and tons and probably wayyy toooo much stuff on this.

Try searching for
1. "3 amigos"
2. "ABS warning Lights"
3. "TC Warning Lights"

you will find plenty, trust me.

If yours are on, it means a fault code has been registered in the ECU (search that one too). If they dont dissapear after start up and driving a few meters you will need to get the code diagnosed by someone with Testbook $45-$80). This will establish where the fault is/was and re-set the warning lights.

possibly a broken or dirty wheel sensor, SLABS Unit shuttle valve, dirty connection.

thanks guys. i'll do a typing search before my next question. sorry if its one of those always asked q's. i did seriously manually go through all the pages though and read each title.
the dealer is going to get it reset free of charge and if it returns (i think it will since the lights dont turn off and there is no t/c(havent tested abs or hdc yet) they'll have to get it sorted under warranty.

forget about dirty sensors,,, they run in a TOTALLY sealed enviroment.

Well folks, as my first (minor) contribution to the Three Amigoes knowledge database - the auto sparky up here traced things back to the horn. The horn switch is faulty and is to be replaced. Initially the horn blew a fuse (which I replaced) and the fault continued (without blowing the fuse) while simultaneously lighting up the Three Amigoes.


I read a thread tracing one person's problem to the rear brake light, but the horn is a new one.

I like to call call Lucas "Lord of Darkness"! And I usedto think that the wiring in my old SIII geological exploration truck was a pain in the butt!
