    Hiya disco-tastic

No matter your eventual choice, we here a Blackbox Solutions Ltd, producers of the Nanocom, wish you all the best regardless.

It may well come as a surprise to discover that the owner of BBS is a member here, open to any public praise or criticism, but then I have such absolute faith in both our products and staff.

Countless members of this forum have benefitted from my participation and seem to appreciat my being here, absolutely, transparently and ultimately being accountable for any failings of either our product and staff

    Warmest Regards

    Colin

    Thanks Colin.

I have heard only the best about yourself and your products. For me it is weighing up the features that i will or won't use.

To be honest the biggest hurdle at the moment is convincing my wife we should get one!

    Cheers

    Dan

Although I have just done a bit of BBS soap box posting, and would not wish to overdo it, however given your comments specificness about features you might be using or not, and in light of a recent change / improvement made in the Nanocom which has utterly transformed the usefullness of my own Nanocom to me with my own RR Sport daily driver, making it something I use on every journey, I thought you might appreciate me sharing with you.

Using one of our windsreen mounts and Right Angle extension leads my Nanocom no longer sits in the glove box but faces me when I drive.

After starting the engine, I lightly touch the nanocoms screen for a couple of seconds which turns it on, a few seconds later, while I plug in my seat belt, because I have pre configured ny nanocom to do so, it does not enter the normal menu, but enters Instrument mode that shows a screen that looks like an old school digital readout of real time engine information, I can scroll to one of 6 such screens showing different information like temps, presssures, Throttle & Pedal positions, air flow, fuel flow, even oil levels etc.

I personally like to see the Inlet manifold pressure Vs Ambient pressure, Ie Turbo boost and can also see which of my two Turbos is generating it.

As well as having my nanocom Auto start Instrument Mode, there is now also another cool feature we recently added called Auto Record where all the information on all Instrument Screens is also automatically saved to a numerically incrementing. CSV file on the SD card inserted in the side of my Nanocom.

On two recent journeys going to and from work, on one I noted a lack of Pick up when performing an overtake manouvere.

I pulled the SD card, stuck it in my PC and using our also recently introdued CSV viewer software, pulled in both files and using it's filtering, graph overlay and multi speed playback features. I could even see a sawtooth effect in the RPM caused by Auto gear shifting as the road speed increased at the points the ACC pedal values showed me flooring it.

I could see that the difference was due to ambient Air Tempertures as it was much hotter when I drove home compared to an early morning and that I had not initaially pressed the accelerator Pedal hard enough to invoke a Kickdown from the Auto box.

    see for yourself

Again!! Nanocom vs IID (and others)-csv2.jpg

At 6 Minutes and 4 seconds into my journey, I was traveling at just 30 KPH, (also user selectable) with the engine running at 981 RPM and with Zero Pedal, then I applied 56% pedal producing RPM and Road speed increases but the first down shift occured after a further 5.5 seconds later and that I only applied 100% pedal 8 seconds after thinking I Had.

Despite my error, I can still see that I accelerated from 30 to 150 KPH in around 25 seconds.

I hope that in showing you this, you and others will appreciate that the nanocom actually provides a degree of benefit and usable functionality well above and way more useful than just a regular vehilce diagnostic equipment.

And that it seems that there is soon to be yet another group buy to get one with a 20% discount would hopefully provide you a very convincing element for the wife

All very fancy but after 8 months and applying a few patches my Faultmate still wont sync my MY12 4.4 TDV8 L322's ccf to the ecm so no ccf changes can be made.

    Hiya Graeme.

Many thanks for your post addition here

Indeed Nicos has really surpassed himself and along with some help from cotchas, has really done a very comendable job in implimenting this capabilty for all Nanocom owners.

Meanwhile I know Alex, who heads the team on Faultmate developments, has also been working hard, especially in respect of your rather unique and individual case, which I should point out I am fully aware of he has made several attempts to try and solve your rather unique and individual issues.

Alex is however working in the dark and working only on assuptions, given that he has no in house vehicle or other means to re create and investigate the cause of your errors that I understand are unique and specific only to you at this point.

I have scheduled a meeting for tomorrow to obtain the latest info in your particular case.

We all try our very best here at BBS to provide the best possible equipment at the best possible price and with the best possible service, despite our best efforts, we are by no means perfect and have never claimed to be so.

I am of course very sorry that we re powerless to make our faultmate equipment work 100% on your own particular 2012 Range Rover yet, but that is no reason to undermine this improvement and benefit to Nanocom owners.

I wish my Nanocom worked on the early L322 but, as I think Colin has explained elsewhere, it's not possible.

One problem with the GAP IID tool (non-BT) is that it uses the L322 dash message centre for the diagnostic information display. That requires a working dash message centre without the usual faulty pixel problem.

I might have to bite the bullet and buy the L322 software for my Faultmate.

I do have a T4 but have yet to make up my version of the "red" diagnostic connector.
