D2 Key PLIP & BCU have lost association

Somehow using v2.02, my spare key has lost it's association with the vehicles BCU. The key transmits and is detected by the Nanocom "RF Test" and Sync Key" functions, however the message received is "The signal detected comes from a PLIP not programmed on this BCU" Both keys have always workedfine.

I have emailed Nanocom for instruction on reprogramming. Anyone had similar experiences?

    Cheers

The problem I had with one of my ignition keys losing its association to the vehicle BCU has been resolved. For those who may experience the same problem, perform the following CAREFULLY:

    1. Open the ignition key fob and remove the circuit board and battery in one piece.
    2. Write down the 6 characters printed on the chip on the underside of the circuit board.

If you have another working key, keep it handy with the non-working key

    3. Start Nanocom and select the Valeo BCU tab
    4. Select "Utility" from the left pane
    5. Perform an RF test with the working key. A success message will be displayed stating the key number
    6. Select “Key Inner Codes” from the left pane of Nanocom
    7. Click “Update” to display the codes stored in the BCU
8, Enter the number from step 2 into any of the key fields, except the field which is the one for the working key identified in step 5
    9. Click “Set Code” next to the field you just added the key number from the non-working key.
    10. Click update and check the new number was written to the BCU
    11. Perform the "Key Sync" function
    12. Disconnect Nanocom and check that the key works

This can also be done to add new or replacement keys to the BCU. I must thank Nanocom Support for guidance with this process. Their Spanish to English translated instructions were not as clear as the instructions I have supplied above.

Has anyone successfully reprogrammed a second had key (without having the barcode) using the method above?

I followed the above and the BCU accepted the code and I confirmed that it was in fact written into the BCU but when I try and sync it says that this key is not programmed.

When I went to one of the other screens, it shows the full barcode and I noted that one of which the first six digits were changed to my new code but the rest of the digits of the barcode are FFFFFFFFFF, which in computing tearms means these digits are not programmed.

So I guess I am asking has anyone successfully synchronized a D2 when you don.t have the barcode using the nanocom?

In case anyone is interested, I was able to successfully sync the second hand key to my Discovery using the nanocom following the procedure above. So it would appear you do not need the barcode.

I emailed nanocom support and they confirmed that it should work but mentioned a reference to a problem they had trying to program to the third slot. Coincidentally I was trying to program to the third slot. so I changed it to the first slot and it then synced straight away.

Anyone with a Nanocom want to assist me to code the key to my car?
Obviously, happy to travel to you.

Just got a fob from England via ebay (with barcode) as my other two keys disintegrated at almost the same time!

Can someone confirm also, that my 02 D2 transmits at 433Mhz?

    Cheers

Thought I had posted this, but a big thanks to jmkoffice who took time out and coded my key for me.
Great to meet you mate, and it was truly appreciated.
Another example of the help and mateship this forum is known for.
