Gee I'm glad we live in the "backward state" and they haven't learnt about tollways over here yet.

Our "tunnel" (the Graham Farmer Freeway) at least does pretty much what it is intended to, and carries traffic from one side of the city to the other, underneath the city. Pity the number of brainless muppets that seem to think it's a racetrack though.

Plenty of tunnels under Kalgoorlie too, but we're not allowed to drive on them.

Anyone had a good look at the tolls?

They have got a new one,any commercially used vehicle,1.5 to 4.5 t gross,pays 50% more toll than a car.

WTF,no other toll is like that in Qld.

So the trady with a ute or van pays more?
Their vehicles ,particularly if lightly loaded would weigh less than many cars,& definitely less than a large unladen 4WD.

So if you have a privately used commercial vehicle, you will have to prove to them it is only used privately.

Money grabbing ba...............

Good of them to target commercial operaters, they forgot one thing, they will only pass the costs on.

I suppose the other toll roads & bridges will do this shortly as well......

Welcome to the (un)real world. The money hungry bastards that run the toll roads here in Melbourne do the same trick. If you drive a ute or a dual cab you're ripped off big time. The sad part is we all ( Victorian taxpayers), owned the roads before that fascist scumbag ex Premier Kennet gave the roads/freeways to his mates. Now we have to pay to drive on the roads we already owned. As I said welcome to the real world.
I assume this thread is about a new tunnel under the Brisbane River ? is this right ?
I must be getting old, I remember when Storey Bridge was re-furbished back in 1968 was it ? . Used to hang out in 'Peg Legs' coffee tavern as a callow youth drinking Drambuie under the table !

Yep and painted the same colour as the ceiling too !

They did say, though that you wouldn't get booked by all 4, but if all 4 photographed you they'd only hit you up once... for the highest speed.

At least the speed limit is 80 .. bleedin' Houghton "Highway" to Redcliffe is only 60 !!!

Only 4?

There are thousands on our citylink tunnels.. (ok well more than 4)

Mrs Ho Har - I wouldn't take zara, not without an oxygen tank, Its bad enough in the Defender with all the pollution.
