Post Heading down to the Mountains again

I'm just preparing the Defender for it's first trip to the Snowy Mountains. For the past few days I've been tinkering and checking fluids etc.

I'll be heading off on Friday and driving down via Nemingha, Werris Ck, Coolah, Gulgong, Molong, Canowindra, Cowra, Young, Cootamundra, Coolac, Tumut & Tumbarumba. 917kms from my driveway to Tulip's dad's place.

Going down the NE and Hume Highways is 1004Km , whilst taking the Gloucester shortcut is 958km. The best part about the route I take is that towns are quite close together.

Plan is to hunt some rutting Fallow Bucks on private property at Maragle for the first few days on my own, since Megan is in New Zealand with work at the moment. I'm picking her up from the airport in Wagga Wagga next Tuesday afternoon and we'll stay the night with friends there. After a few more days with Meeg's dad we'll then head down to Tooma to visit her mum.

Hope to be heading back on about the 13th towing a float, could be a slow old trip....

    Sounds like fun mate!

I'm hoping to do a snowboarding trip down that way later this year. Was down 2 hours past Cooma (just over the NSW/VIC border) last year...towed a 3 ton dual axle trailer from there up to the Sunshine Coast - was a bit slow going over the mountains! So yeah, you might have a slow trip back!

I started building a set of storage drawers for the rear of the Defender today. Nothing like leaving things until the last minute

    Photos tomorrow
