    Tombie .... you're a legend

    OK OK ... I couldn't wait ......... allright..

Posted off the ECU to Mr Tombie on Monday and back it comes today.
Return trip Brisvegas to Whyalla. Was going to wait until the weekend to re-install. No way Jose .. had to put it in this evening.

Only a short trip around the burbs, but I a convert already. Better chance to check it out tomorrow, but even the short trip the difference was very impressive.

Flat road at 60 in 4th BT (Before the man (Tombie)). Give it some loud pedal and it used to cogitate for a while and then almost experience an epiphany ..... Oh .. you want to go faster

Very responsive now .. it almost gets up and boogies

Have to be a tad more responsible tho .. gaved it a bootload in 2nd up a slight hill and almost lost sight of the cars behind in the emission ..
P'raps that was there before, and it was dark so more obvious in the headlights.

Champion stuff old son ...... and only too glad to help out AULRO !!

You will get a little smoke on hard throttle - fuel = power (within reason)

Check / fiddle with your boost settings (wastegate) to get the optimum max. boost before it goes into overboost. This extra little bit of air often cleans up the smoke

    Maaaaaaaaaaate .. You've forgotten ... You're talking to a luddite here.
I've heard of a wastegate, but NFI what to do with it, or even where to look (other than under the bonnet).

Lift the bonnet and look in ......... yep .. that's an engine

    That is a waste gate.

That is a some ones D2 engine bay, (Play where's wally)

You will need a 8 or 10mm spanner and a pair of fine nose pliers. (I would also spray the lock nut with CRC/WD40 etc. Also holding the rod in place with a pair of vice grips would be recommended. (Stops it twisting when you try and undo the lock nut).

The less threads (shorter) the rod is the more boost it will allow.

Std boost is around 15ish psi.

I think over boost is 20-21ish.

I would give it a few turns then drive, repeat this until it hits over boost ( The car will fuel cut. You will feel it, it surges) Then turn it back Half a turn.

    Then enjoy

If you do the adjustments on a hot day there is a fair chance you may get a bit of overboost in cold weather when the engine produces its best HP!!!!
    ENJOY

Well we have just got back from a 2 week road trip and I have to say the upgrade is fantastic. The car ran like a dream. The cherry on top was coming up the Toowoomba range where I could get a direct comparison of before and after.

    Thanks Mike and AULRO.
