Barrington Tops - Snow

Does anyone up that way know if any snow is forecast in the next two weeks? (school hols).
Thinking of a day trip up there with the kids as closer than the Snowys.

Cheers

Lithgow is closer, if it snows at Barrington it will more than likely snow at Lithgow or the Blue Mountains.

Also it's 4hr 59min to Tumut

AND

5hr 30min to Barrington Tops VIA Gloucester, longer if you go via the Buckets way.

The Snowy is closer

Oh and that's according to google from Blacktown.

But I maybe departing from my Hunter Valley retreat (Branxton) so Barrington is closer.
no chance of me camping up there by myself with the billy lids, would drive a man to drink.

Hi Yorkie, I'll be staying in the area next week and will be going for a day drive along the Barrington Tops Forest Road on Wednesday. I'm taking my wife and 3 kids hopefully to see some snow, although going off this old report we might be a week too early for that:

Snow on Barrington Tops - Local News - News - Weather - Manning River Times

Anyway, my accommodation is already booked so we're going regardless. The plan is to leave Gloucester early morning for an easy drive up through the Tops towards Scone, with regular stops to check out the campsites, picnic areas, plot some GPS points and see the sights (and if we're lucky for a play in the snow!). I'll probably be going as far as the dingo gates at the Western end of Barrington Tops, that's if we get that far, and then returning the way we've come back to Gloucester. I won't be doing any four wheel drive tracks on this trip, just sticking to the main 2WD dirt road.

You (or whoever else is interested) are welcome to tag along because it would be good to have another vehicle/s with us, especially at this time of year and being my first time up there. It might not really suit you though because you'd probably be coming from the other direction via Scone and Moonan Flat wouldn't you?

O-D.

Oh OK, might be able to squeeze a weekend up there from the 9th to maybe the 14th, I'll check with Kerry.
