    Discovery 4 DAB radio

    In Januray I took delivery of my new Disco 4 HSE, one of the options I chose to up-grade was the sterio system to include the Harman Kardon Logic 7. Imagime my dissapointment when I discovered that that DAB radio was not supported in Australia. Its advertised as being standard in the brochure and on the web site. I contacted Land Rover Australia requesting the new radio modification (hardware/firmware/chip - whatever) when they became available in Oz. Their reply was "that Land Rover Australia does not have the functionally of DAB currently installed in their vehicles and there is no immediate plan to incorporate this option in any furture models". Looks like we are still those dam people in the Colonies.

    Just as well you didn't get DAB.

    Australia broadcasts digital radio in DAB+ and the set might not have worked here if it was a DAB. The DAB+ format is superior to the older DAB format....so in fact we colonists are ahead in that area....it's just that I don't think we can get head units with DAB+ yet.

    Thumbs up DAB in Range Rover

    Hi i took delivery of a new Evoque 2 weeks a go and i was unable to get the DAB to work. I spoke with the dealer and was told DAB did not have enough aerials to work in Australia due to signal strength. Since then i have found 1 truck manufacture, Toyota and Lexus all using DAB in their vehicles. Also i have found there are 4 after-market suppliers of car audio systems selling into Australia, Sony, Kenwood, JVC and Pioneer all with DAB programmed and working. I am unable to get an answer out of Land Rover Australia regarding this and also why CD labelling does not work.....

    Land Rover does not support it new car buyers in countries that have a DAB+ broadcast. DAB+ is in Ireland, Australia, Norway, Germany and Switzerland all with good Land Rover sales. DAB+ is the preferred medium from the old DAB used in UK. The web is awash with Land rover fans trying to get their vehicles changed to receive DAB+, Median the supplier of the sound systems to Rover and Jaguar Jaguar have the same system but it is programmed with DAB+ to its customers.

    Wink DAB+ Radio in MY16 Discovery SE is working fine

    Hi all, I initially had no DAB radio in my new Discovery SE (yes it did have one fitted). As I bought the car last week in a regional city there was no DAB transmission so I didn't initially notice any issue. When I got to Brisbane and DAB did not work I looked into it properly. It turned out the fix was very simple. In the "Settings" there was no "Country" selected. I simply selected Australia from the drop-down list and it now works perfectly, and sounds great!

    So in my case it was a matter of properly reading the owner's manual supplied with the car, and it was all there in the Quick Start Guide.

    It also appears to me that the DAB radio fitted must be compatible with both DAB and DAB+ as the list of countries is extensive and includes UK. Anyhow main thing is it works perfectly here in Oz.
