I always wondered what the ARN (army rego number) of that vehicle was, as I have a friend and fellow AULRO member that has 48-005.

In the article it says the following;

"He said the Land Rover - Army Registration Number 48-001 - made its premier appearance in episode one of the first series in which it was filled up with fuel at the Borroloola Inn before heading north to the Roper River."

Good man great show. This one has a particular memory for me. My then 11 year old son watched it , then went off for a while. When I asked him what he was up to, he told me he made a yabbie trap, just like Les. He placed it in the tidal creek at the back of our place, and was so proud of his work. I just had to take one of the green prawns out of the fridge , destined for dinner, and sneak it into the trap. Still haven't told him. The look on his face when he found it was priceless, not going to burst that bubble Bob
