    Last ditch effort fri/sat 19/20dec

ok since time is rapidly running out and since I owe some farewells.

theres a sick D2 that needs an engine change done on it for an older couple in the next ten days. Theyve had the typical run of bad luck with all the local shoddy grease monkeys and havent had the fortune to run into anyone worthy of being permitted to work on my sons wheelbarrow. So now low on cash, short on time and high on hopes they've pinned their xmas holidays on getting this thing done on time.

its near ipswich on the corner of mary and thomas ST and it needs an engine pull and replace all the parts are there but the skill sets aren't.

As my last ditch for the switch prior to trying it on for a farewell do Im going to stick the last of free time into it and if anyone can help Id appreciate it. I'll take any help I can get but Im really going to need access to a nanocom or similar to sort out the smarts for the thing when its done.

Id also like some help in the form of someone with a laptop and a copy of the rave for an auto D2 that can be my eyes on the books while I tear through the works finding me the torque specs and the like while I swing my way though the engine bay work.

I'm planning on spending an hour or so each day next week on my way to where Im staying to pull it out but would really appreciate some help on the friday and saturday 19/20dec when it comes to pushing it all back together.

With all that's going on with you, Dave, I'm impressed that you are still able to think about trying to sort out someone else's problems. If I could help, I would. At least it looks like you've got big Ian there to help. Good on you Dave and Ian.

Likewise, if it was possible I would give you a hand Dave. As Ron said, it's great that you can help someone else even with your own problems. Good on you mate

Engine is out, the owner is getting its replacement prepped for me to rip off the flywheel flex plat eand harmonic balancer and to do the oil pump bolt check tomorrow after noon

he'll be doing the fit form and function, for the parts and ordering what he needs tomorrow, hopefully the engine will be resting back on the gearbox on tuesday, the parts will turn up wednesday and the push will start on friday afternoon with the thing running on saturday.

Dave I have a Nanocom available if you still require it, I can't do much to help i'm afraid, as I have damaged my shoulder and the weekend is booked out. I have noticed the D2 sitting on the corner with a spare donk next to it.

    Cheers, Mick.

I'd help, but I think I'd be more of a hindrance - you've seen my mechanical skills!

Not to mention not being able to lift whilst recovering from my appendix op.
