Rotten luck I guess that we get to casual and that it is what cause accidents.
Typical with the electricians, every few month the get a zap and are more careful for the next 6 months or so.

[QUOTE=bacicat;2299959], but I think once your past 40, you probably shouldn't be going more than a couple of steps up a ladder IMO.

    /QUOTE]

I think it probably depends on what you do day to day. I work physically up to 60 hours a week and play 2-3 games of basketball a week. I still have pretty good balance, ladders don't worry me, except I am not great with heights (never have been). And yes, I am 40, although I look much younger!

I had a visit to hospital after doing my right shoulder A.C. joint on the 20th of last month playing backyard cricket. I took a blinder of a catch & landed the wrong way. The worst part was that it was at my wifes nephew & his wifes place, where we were doing an over nighter with the camper trailer, on our way to a 2 week break. Had to come home without the holiday & with the wife towing the Goldstream for the first time & I have to say she was pretty impressive after a couple of k's to get the feel of things.
Don't forget to milk the injury for as long as possible.

I hope that you pull up ok after this. I have just had my right shoulder AC joint "excised", going back to work tomorrow after four weeks off. Arthritis set in after a fall to the shoulder... They chopped off 10mm from the end of the collar bone and cleaned it up.

In the fall I also torn off the biceps tendon which was reattached in a previous op.

On the upside I got to watch four test matches.

    Cheers

I have broken 4 legs over the years, not bad with only 2 legs to start with.
Believe it or not - You never get to like having a broken leg.
Last Time I was 40, fell down some stairs, I really was ****ed off that I had managed to brake a leg again.
Fiberglass type cast are much better than the old plaster ones.
Hope it all mends well & you are up & around soon.

Bugger, not good and I hope the surgery goes well.

It's all a bit spooky as I've been up a 5m extension ladder last week taking down a dead 6 m high jarrah overhanging the house. Thankfully my son who is in the SES was able to help and I still have my climbing harness/gear to lash up to the tree. Last time I'm doing it though as I was a lot more wobbly than when I last did it a few years ago.

    Cheers

    Could've been worse, could've been me...........again.

On a serious note; I hope it heals quickly and without complication. Check with the doc about clotting, it nearly killed me literally.

    All the best mate.

Sorry to hear of your fall, hope it all goes well for you and have a quick recovery. Don't beat yourself up to much about it, we all do things we look back on and regret.
