So are you arguing that all current green/pedestrian/cycling areas should be user pays too? Or that they should be bitumenised so road vehicle registration taxes can pay for them instead?

It wasnt that long ago when we didn't have to pay anything for simply existing in the natural environment. Now you can't park, eat or camp for free in most parks in Australia. What's next? User pays air?

Aren't they pretty much all paved anyway? Only a small minority of people use walking tracks, and why do they need to be paved anyway. Oh that's right, they might lose their footing and hurt themselves

But I'm a firm believer that bike riders should pay rego. You want all these things done for you, why shouldn't you put in extra?

I do believe in exercise though, and everybody should be doing it, walking probably being the cheapest of all. Maybe we'd be a fitter society.
