This doesnt really suit my driving style as I like to keep the minimum amount of power on and thats usually less than 1/2 whats availalble but If I need to move I'll bury the boot to the stops and then sort it out on the gear changes and finesse the one i wind up in. The short solution might just be to manually trip the low range select switch.
I found the manual low range switch very worthwhile until I removed the hyclone from the D2's airbox, as now the power feeds in much more gradually. I have a short steep hill where I use 1st high that now is no problem with the standard throttle. I think a free-flowing main muffler might complete my setup, so maybe one day it will get replaced.
Maybe your throttle will be more gradual when you get your new exhaust system.
