    Curses! P38A Problems

This afternoon, we stopped at Tumbarumba to collect Lee's belongings from the police.

When we went to leave, the Rangie wouldn't start or run on petrol. Fortunately, the servo had LPG so we were able to get to Albury. The LPG tank was virtually empty at Tumb, It usually takes 54 litres of LPG, It took 54.5 this arvo.

I'll have to keep a close eye on the km travelled to ensure we don't run out of LPG - assuming I can start the car tomorrow. It normally starts on petrol and then the computer changes it over to LPG when the engine is warm.

I tried running on petrol tonight and it still won't run. I'll try to fault find tomorrow morning.

Our thanks to Barra1 (Kevin) and his wife Marie for the company and the drinks. We needed to get some normality into our lives today,

I only have dial=up at the motel so I won't be on much longer - the cable is too short to reach the desk and Elsiabeth wants to go to sleep.

    How are your injectors isolated?

It seems that mine knock out both banks with a standard relay activated by the LPG controller. If mine were doing that I'd be making sure that the relay had power, was switching and had low resistance when the contacts were closed.

Sing out if you need anything. I have tools and a multimeter at your disposal.

Has that Range Rover no sympathy?!!

Having to make the trip is bad enough but I think your luck is rubbing it in a bit too far

Hope you get it sorted quickly

It started this morning on LPG using the emergency procedure given to me yesterday by the installers. I'm not sure which relay turns off the injectors. The main fuel pump relay is oK, I also swapped it just in case.

I think I have the install manual fo rthe LPG system on this laptop so will look that suggestion up.

    Thanks chaps.

I'll be off line for the rest of the day.

    We are home!

We made sure we fuelled up well before we needed it - 4 fill-ups instead of 2! One can't top up the LPG on the side of the road.

We stopped off at Ivan Clarke (aka Grover) at Clarke Automotive in Wodonga and Ivan checked the fuel pressure on the fuel rail. 15psi instead of about 35 psi. No wonder it wouldn't run on petrol.

Looks like a new fuel pump is required (223,000km). Time to fit the long range tank (bought from Hardy 18 monthS ago!) as well?

Thanks very much to Ivan for checking the system for me.

The support Elisabeth and I have received this week have shown her just how the AULRO network works and how good it is.

I will see you all in Cooma!

    Second fuel system.

Ron, I'm glad you had a second fuel system. So glad your home safe. Those hp fuel pumps can be fragile
