LR Traders and innacurate ads
I am really getting really peeeeeeved at car dealers (read, rogue traders/steelers/punks) advertising Disco's as a higher spec model.
I keep my eye on the market all the time and follow the values of the ES model, specifically 1999 to 2003, just incase... I also like the look of them all.
I have seen plenty being advertised as an ES model which clearly are not.
New price for 1999 ES Auto was $66k about $20 more than the base model and they should fetch a value around $5k more today.
If you're unsuspecting, you'd be conned into buying a vehicle that was clearly not top of the range 'cos you'd research and get price history data for the ES that could make you think you were getting a cheap car.
I drop the car yards in question a line if I'm bothered but have never gottn a response yet.
Heres another one;

The stuff you cant see is SLS, ACE, Harmon Kardon Sound System, 6 stacker CD, Electric Seats. But look hard for the 6th/7th seats, rear passenger A/C, front fog lights, 12 speakers, Leather/Woodgrain, wheel flares. . See any of that stuff?
NO! I wonder why.
This one at least has the seats.
