    02 Range Rover Td6 Economy????

    Hi guys,

Weve just bought a Hse range rover with the bmw td6, and its in brisbane.

So were going too drive it back from brisbane too perth.

I've done perth too sydney, and back before.

Just wondering what highway economy we can expect... So we can work out costing's before we go.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi SCS,
On a trip back to WA approx 9's
Have seen a few of these with real good economy figures.
Its the stop start "ONLY" traffic that the figures rise.
    Cheers

    No way!

That 6 cyl diesel is a fantastic engine.

We just took ours to the snow, and the fuel figures are as follows:
    - Overall 2000Km with fast highway, slow windy roads up the mountains and a mix of 100, 110 and maybe a bit of 120Km/hr cruising: 10.4L/100Km
    - Steady 100Km/hr: 9.6L/100
    - Steady 110 Km/hr: 9.9L/100
    - Up the mountain and dicking around in the snow in low range: 16L/100Km

That was loaded up with enough gear, food and booze to last a week + the kids .

Unloaded and cruising I have seen less than 9L/100, which is excellent for a big lump of car that it is. It aint slow either.

Yes thank you everyone, 9L would be fantastic, its $1400 too have it freighted... and ive got frequent flyer points, so its only fuel costings and food too feed three of us thats the issue.... and its an adventure so that makes it worth it

    Cheers John.

Oh and its only poor economy in petrols.... haha my partners s2 disco 4ltr v8. 19ltr per 100k's... and my sport is between 22average too as bad as 35 per 100k's towing a heavy trailor last weekend.... So the diesel will pay for itself...

    5500 kms later..... were home.....

Mind you that was from queensland, down too the bottom of melbourne, and then back across too WA.

Best economy i saw was 8.7ltr per 100k's.

Overall economy for the whole trip was 10.7

A big leap from the TD5. Very impressed with power and response.

That's a big drive. Pretty much the same figures as mine.

They just lope along on the highway don't they.
