Is that car in Australia (or coming to Australia)?
Like the Lambo (?) in the background
Not too good a pic, but looks very good build, awaiting more info from my, spies.

Won't sell unless fitted with airbags,if they aren't approved for site work they don't have much of a market. Pat
I want a Puma 130 BUT as usual got no money etc so will remain happy with my 300Tdi WHEN gearbox is fixed.
P.S. The Lambo is the courtesy car for when the Landy is in the workshop ! (dream on eh!)
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

How many other HD twincabs come with windbags ?
Not many - thats why Toyota has the market wrapped up......
I totally agree - theres is an exemption to this and thats is for under-ground work.............and we have just received confirmation TOYOTA JAPAN is going to remake the 6 cylinder cruisers and bring into Australia fpr the mining industry (well for BHP sites anyway).Won't sell unless fitted with airbags,if they aren't approved for site work they don't have much of a market. Pat
We currently have 200 plus on order and due to arrive within 6 months.
Without totally hijacking this thread - I do like the king cab Land Rovers, but Land Rover please conform to the new site standards because to be compete in a market you firstly have to conform.....
All the best
Wayne
how on earth did this go from a thread about king cab LR's to mining vehicles?
ellard, its the first i've heard of the older landcruisers being built, i wouldnt think it would be a worthwhile exercise for toyota, how long has this been in the pipeline, and whats the go with getting hold of them?
i know one local company has had to build a whole new platform based on a Patrol chassis/driveline due to the issues with getting the 70 series troopies past undergound vehicle regulations, and i imagine this would be horrendously expensive......
Indeed, i was just giving out info on this very different Defender, then we go on to mining.
Why not set up a new section, Toyota mining 4wd's..........
The reason it jumped to site vehicles is because site vehicles ARE the market. It is completely pointless for LR to make a work vehicle that does not comply with the regulations in the market the vehicle is aimed at.Tojo sell 20,000 Hilux's a year because they comform,LR sell 100 defenders because they don't. Pat
I wonder how big the panel gaps would be if Solihul had to churn out 20,000 extra 'fenders a year... may be a good idea not to target the mining market?
I like the concept of a kingcab 130 but still wouldnt buy one in preference to a dual cab...
