Roof Rack - How to finish?

    Gday

My roof rack should hopefully be finished and fitted on Friday

Its an alloy one. I'll have to see how it looks but Im pretty certain Ill finish it in black to match the other accessories.

Now the million dollar question is paint or powder coat? I have a mate with a compressor and air brush so I could paint it myself, if I decide to go that way.

    What do you all suggest?

    Thanks

And yes Ill post up photos when I get it

If you can afford powder coating, it's the way to go. Far more robust than paint.

    Thanks mate

Yeh think I'd prefer powder coating, I was told roughly $250ish but Ill get a better quote once they have a look at it

Make sure the paint is for alloy. My brother who made my roof rack in alloy says you need to apply a special base paint for alloy surfaces before applying the standard finish coat.
