Any body on the road a little further out

I would like to travel from Boulia to Alice vis the Plenty H/way. Is there anybody who has travelled it in the last few months. Yes I know the floods but some one may have gone there as I want to go and see Lake Ayre filled with water. I intend to go from SE Queensland on the 28/6/09 and return via Big Red on the 18/07/09. If that sound interesting PM me to discuss options. If you have information about differet attractions - Please give me a list as I am a beginner 4WD on this trip. never been there! Does any one Know if there is a charter flight over the lake and from where??????
    Thank you

Marree or William Creek have flights over the lake, best thing is to contact the local shire for road condition for the area, they know best.

    This may help

Flights over Lake Eyre are usually conducted by Wright Air - you can check out their web site for recent pictures of the flood water. They fly from William Creek from my knowledge.

If you have a look at the site 4WDing, Camping & Caravanning around Australia @ ExplorOz you will find information in respect to road conditions and the forums have a lot of information on the flood water.
