If you are thinking Rover Park, The June long weekend is the "Battle of the States" event.

Make it later in the year

If you're thinking Tenterfield then think Summertime, Winter in Tenterfield is a bit Brass Monkey's, Regards Frank.

Tenterfield may be a bit too far for most of us mexicans, two headed mexicans and and crow eating mexicans. Maybe we have the second one a bit further south.

Because Australia Day is a Tuesday next year, it will run from the Friday - Tuesday. Well worth the trip. It's only 6/7 hrs from Sydney

Agree Maggot4x4 and good onya for getting the ball rolling. I just think the location aint all that central..

300km from Bris
700km from Syd
1500km from Melb
1800km from Adelaide
2000km from Launy
and I think all the Sand gropers have unsubscribed from this thread

And 1800k from Cairns

Makes it fairly central.

If we can't get atleast 200 cars there it won't be worth running it. I will do some more work on an itinery and see what people think and go from there.

Yup fair enough Maggot. It's your thread so, as I said, don't want to discourage a great idea - which it is.
I'm still gonna try and come.

I s'pose we're never really going to get somewhere that is close to all. Perhaps, as said earlier, we rotate it through the states or have concurrent meeting.
