Land Rover - making a difference film on YouTube

Hi all
You might be interested in the YouTube link below for a video which shows what LR are up to by way of addressing the eco critics. Hint -view it in high quality if you can as it has some nice detail.

Do you think it helps?

Thats nice....

A question though

Why do these things always show power station cooling towers belching that highly noxious STEAM into the atmosphere

... perpetuating the myth for the ill informed.

because most of the world contains shallow narrow minded people who only give attention to what they can see. EG, I have explained many times to various people that just because you can see a puff of smoke from a diesel, does not mean they produce more emission's than a clean 'looking' petrol (which could use 2x the fuel!). In addition to this although its easy to die breathing petrol engine exhaust, you dont die from diesel exhaust, but you may feel sick. This is contrary to what many people believe based on what they see.

BTW if you dont want to gas yourself with harmful emissions take a cold shower.

Well, the CO2 is a bit harder to photograph...

I think the movie is obviously a bit of feel-good propoganda which may appeal to the yuppies or other types who like to be seen patting the natives on the head but the policy is to be applauded. It's the way we have to go if we want to drive cars (or indeed have any other manufactured goods) in the future without flushing the environment down the toilet. I'm impressed by the proactive approach Land Rover has taken rather than just ignoring the issue.

Nice video, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! Does this mean I can get a carbon neutral sticker for my 110 TDCi so old ladies stop harrassing me about killing the planet??

A very clever marketing piece. Every detail was brilliant - it has understated humour, lots and lots and lots and lots of nice green trees and smiling people.

And best of all, it isn't just brilliant marketing aimed to fool the public. THey're actually doing something (recognising it'll take time). And they want to be doing everything that can.

Applause!

How can we get this video seen by as many ppl as possible?

They need some kind of 'green car' sticker to go on LandRovers.

Hi all
To the question asked I promise this is not part of a market research exercise ......I'm just passionate about getting this side of the arguement in front of as many people as possible so that they can take an informed view.

If you like the film please pass it on to as many people as you can and, if you have the time, visit YouTube to rate and leave a comment.

You might also like this film which is the new Discovery TV ad running in Europe. The movie location scout featured is real - how cool a job would that be?
