i just had an epithany !!!!!

Hi all,
After posting earlier in the week that i thought that my clutch master cylinder had thrown in the towel (luckily it was local and after i re-joined the RAC all was well) well i fitted a new one to no avail.
Turns out it must be the clutch fork or the clutch kit itself but i am not stressing as i had an epithany whilst having a go at it this arvo.
The latest plan is just to get all the badness out the way so i am able to to enjoy the bloody thing!
So i have (after some investagative probing) decided to do a front end build up.
The bulkhead is rotten and i know i could do the repair panels to the bulkhead under the windscreen fasteners but i believe the bottom door posts are having an affair of the corrosive kind (i saw the evidence on the screws i took out of the lower door post today and rot there is common enough on an untreated vehicle)
Although there is receipt evidence of huge spends on the 130 in the past, i doubt it was from the previous owner but the one prior to that.
I dont think though he claimed to have, spent where he should and just enjoyed the hell out of it though the lump seems ok still as does the gearbox, i believe the last owner just flogged poor old bluey!
Jordons were suppossed to have done the transfer case but on removal i discovered that the intermediate shaft casing face had been covered with hymol or similar sealant to stop the leak, probably to move it on as the guy was looking to sell it.

So i am looking at biting the bullet and doing a fair decent attempt at restoration so not only am i still purchasing the door skins re-furbishing the frames and powder-coating them and rebuilding the doors up ready for painting, but i am going to purchase a bulkhead from the u.k. cold galv treated and shipped over with any other stuff i require in for a penny !!

I am not going to touch the chassis as it seems sound and i have gone hard at it with the grinder mounted steel brush and primed and painted it with rustguard eventually i will give it a good going over with Wurths anti corrosion oils,
Not only that but when the bulkhead arrives and is painted after remounting to the truck it's lower door pillers are going to get drilled inside with a pilot hole and pumped with Wurths oil, then recieve a repaint and grommet to finish the job.

After that it's an overall paintjob and new boots all road and some road wheels as i plan to put some deeper tyres on.
And as the truckman body leaks like a sieve so gonna look at getting an ali body top built
I guess she should be right for sometime after all this attention one would hope!
I guess sometimes a man has to do what a man has to do ....toffo !

Too bad it wasn't an epiphany.

Hey, that sounds great. You go for it. It's better to just get on with something like this than to keep stumbling along fixing things forever. You'll be very glad when you're done - it'll be a great car.

Mind you, you'll still be fixing things forever . . . it just won't be quite so bad!
