    Touring seats?

I'm getting old and painful, so After a bit of feedback from those requiring 'therapeutic' or extra suppport in their seating for long distance driving, are there any other options besides the Scheel, Recaro and other mainstream brands that are about and readily available in this country? After a non bank- breaking option, but I do understand good seats cost $$$.
So, anyone here got/ about to get any of the above?

They're to go in my RR.

Well, I find Defender seats more comfortable than my P38A seats!

What about seats from a newer Rangie? Also I have always found D1 seats to be very comfortable. At the end of the day it is a personal thing though as we are all built a little different - kind of like Land Rovers

In the past I have semi ruptured disks in lower back, fractured tailbone, so my backs not good. In the last 20 years of driving I have found the disco 1 seats best for my back as it seems to suit the relief of the points that need reliefing in my back. I also find that it takes a couple of hrs for the back to settle into a seat and reach the pain level, that pain then dosnt get any worse if I drive for another 10 -15 hrs. Longest drive I ever did was 22hrs and 50 minutes and that was in the disco. My bigest problem is getting in and out of cars, must look funny when I get out of the wifes falcan as I have to sort of roll out, even if its a drive down the street. Hope you find a seat that can offer you some releif
    cheers

JC - these are the seats i got. A bit pricey but i love them. I'm a young fella, so I figured get the seats now and they can last forever. I want to still have this car in 20yrs.
$1585 each plus seat rails at $298 each
    G10 & V110 fabric
They also have other rails for other cars.

all the way to the front

all the way to the rear -im 6ft and can just compress the clutch with the seat in this position.
i'll get more photos of the hinges to the rear mechanism by days end
    cheers geck

I agree my D1 has very comfortable seats.I have been Australia wide in the last 4 years and can be classed as very grey nomad but I don't suffer from bad back syndrome with the Disco's seats.

I had Recaros in my old rangie for many years. Comfortable, but cloth wears quickly.

In my current rangie, I fitted ARB Paratus seats. Have had them for many years now and happy with them - been meaning to get some Dingo canvas seat covers from Weipa.

One of the difficulties to be aware of is that with a lot of aftermarket seats, the side bolsters are rather high, and in a Defender particularly, can make it difficult to get in and out.
