IMHO a 90 is a posers **** mobile, (same as a P38 or a D3). They're more at home on a Britney Speers video that a bush track. Yes they look good, yes they would be relatively quick (compared to a snail, other model Land Rover Defender's or a tortoise)

They're tippy, useless at carrying anything more than a handbag/manbag and the drivers and 1 passengers ego's.

Admittedly there are a few places that a SWB model will get that a LWB won't without a bit of a wiggle about, but 90% of the time it is the opposite scenerio.

They're useless for touring without a trailer, useless as the utility vehicle they are supposed to be(more like a bagged and subwoofered hilux you see 19yr old boys driving), dedicated offroader?????? How many get used for that compared to 110's?

Worth the money, hell no. Give me a 2K Rocky instead. At least you won't kill one of them.

I know of a local track up this way that a 110 or even a 100 inch vehicle struggles on, someone bring up a Defender 90 and prove me wrong, we could time the time spent negotiating obstacles with points taken for rubbing and hits. Word of warning, your panels will get polished by the odd tree and rock. Any takers?

You're right of course Dobbo, My 90 is crap off-road... I cant remember ever doing any touring trips in it either.

Look at the competition off road scene in Europe.. how many people use 90's - loads... then how many use 110's! basically none

yes your entitled to your opinion and you have brought up very valid points but no need what so ever to allude to the fact that anyone that owns one is a ******. Or at least that's how I read it.

Funny, coming back from a surf at the Sunshine Beach this morning (surf was good btw ), my dad and I were talking about dream cars - a current Range Rover had parked near us sparking the conversation...for me it was a 110 setup for expedition and serious off-road use...basically my current project Defender in a year or two. And then a soft-top 90 as a daily driver...that for me would be perfect! Hopefully before I'm 30 - so I've got 6+ years!

So yeah, this is exciting news...but also agree that to compete in the SWB 4x4 market the price would be better under $40,000....

How many are used in the Australian comp off road scene? Also I see a lot of V8 supercars, F1 cars and drag cars on the motorsport channels, don't see any driving the streets though. It's being sold as a road car not a comp vehicle or an ATV.

However the persona is associated with such vehicles. But you have convinced me that I want a ****mobile. It should easily fit all 5 of us in plus the ratdog. I could sell the D2 and the County and use it for everything. I can see us now, as a family going to a horse event with a loaded float on the back. (legally I'm not sure). Then of course I can use it to buy whitegoods, like I do the 110, thus saving on delivery. I hope your right and they are truly indestructible, cause I can't fit the tools in anywhere.

I could do this in a 130, 110 or a 100 inch Landy, but not a 90.

Thats the point, everyone is different. I don't plan to have 5 +dog anytime soon and live in the city. I like small 4wds to get around town and then take up to the vic high country every chance i get. For me it ticks alot of the boxes. So I will certainly have a look when they come out here.

Whitegoods? You never heard of negotiating free delivery....

mmmmmm ok I can't say I have ever heard anyone call a 90 a **** mobile other than you....so this persona you talk about is this nationwide or something that you have just made up! personally I think its the latter as I only ever hear people on here say they would really like one although not practical for their life style, not that he looks like a ****** owning one and the only reason he bought it is to be a poser.

and where did I say they were indestructible??? or you making this up as well...a car is a car they all break they all have problems not matter what the brand or wheel base.

The fact of the matter is whether you try and justify it or not...do not chastise people for there choice of car, because people choose to buy 90's does not mean they are posers and ******* they may have a want or need for this type of car.
