There is one on carsales at the moment http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=7995754&__sid=121732C0A3A5&__Qpb=tr ue&Cr=3&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_PriceSort _Decimal|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String| 0&keywords=&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%2 04294965541%204294874818&seot=1&tsrc=allcarhome&__ Nne=15&trecs=5&silo=1011 for $23,000.
It sure looks the good in the photo's, but there is one line in there that I love, "Fully restored, $1000 spent to get to this standard". If I could spend only a grand on restoring one and get $23,000 from selling it, I think its time I contemplate my next career move!!

Yes and no, I think the old saying "they are only worth what someone is willing to pay" holds true on most occasions.
That's a lovely 109"- and probably cost more than that to build up.
This one has been for sale for a while now - was on ebay a few times and no bids over $10K. Good luck to the owner I hope it sells for that but I doubt it.
The tail lights cost $500 so he obviously budgeted the other $500 well.![]()
Many restorers labour under the delusion that what they have spent is value adding. It is not. It is the cost of a hobby. One regularly sees quite common cheap mass produced cars being offered for sale at ridiculous prices usually with the text mentioning the fabulous sum spent restoring them. Classic example was a 1937 Chev. offered for sale at $37,000 and supposedly $25,000 having been spent on the restoration. This was a first class restoration to a standard the manufacturer never intended or could have achieved with the technology of the time. However it is still a cheap mass produced family car of no great technical merit, no competition history, never owned by a celebrity, or taken part in notable events. To my mind, a $7,000 to $10,000 car.
There was an unrestored 1935 Ford, reasonably complete and in need of full restoration offered for sale at Bendigo swap last year for $20,000. I wouldn't pay $10,000 for one freshly restored. It is only an old Ford for Christ's sake. Not vintage, not veteran, not post-vintage thoroughbred, not a listed classic car, just an old car. You could spend another $20,000 restoring this one and still just have an old Ford.
