it may well be slow,
when i bought mine, i thought it to be a slug, [i am used to a v8 d1]
however i got ricks 4wd at nerang to look at it and now it is slow off the mark for about a car lenght, then it really rocks, i didn't think diesels moved so well.
get it tuned, maybe then you won't want to sell it.

Just tell them after they buy to slap in a v8 if they want something quicker!!! Obviously they don't know what they are after and have not done any research on LR's.

That is the key, when i first got mine i used to baby it , now i have had it for 3 1/2 years i know how to drive it and rarely get shown up by other 4by's.
It takes a different style of driving to get the most out of them.

They are slow, no argument there but what are they comparing to. Golf and Falcon.

They are also slow to drink fuel and slow to get any speeding tickets.

So they want to pay say $8k for a car and expect it to go like a $60k Prado or D3, I dont think so.

They are oxygen thieves and should be fined for wasting your time, did you advertise anything other than a 300tdi Landy? I don't think so.

Exactly, if tune them properly & ring em out they go pretty good 4 what they are. Horses 4 coarses, its a 2.5 diesel 4x4, they go alright in the scrub.
If they want something faster, tell um to buy something faster but first educate then on turbo diesel driving techniques, are they aware of turbo lag??????????

Yes, it is slow, I got my 93 Disco 4L V8 Auto back on the road on Friday after driving my 94 300TDi Auto for 3 months, I near lost it coming out of the driveway, no more planning 2 weeks ahead to overtake someone on the highway. hills no longer exist, but alas the V8 is for sale, so it will be back to the 300TDi, s'pose it will take a few months to get the V8 out of the system, Regards Frank.

i dont want to sell it, i have to sell it, i just wish someone would come and tell me that for 6k a tdi with 160ks is a great buy and they will go get the cash at least than i wont have to stress about it being slow and i can get my buissness full steam ahead

it is a great buy i payed 7 for mine with full history from new and 150thou
but she was imaculate and leak free how things change not the leak part tho she is that again

I borrowed my mum's 200tdi D1 once , back when I had mine for a run up to Muswellbrook. I thought it a bit sluggish compared to mine (now longstrokes rig) in the 4 o'clock traffic heading west. On the run home just after midnight I was well impressed with it's top end, "coming back in" from overtaking semis at speeds(I wish to claim privilege ) that would have had mine wheezing sort of showed me that not all Disco's are the same.
