Any Explorist XL experts who can assist with street routing?

Hi All

I recently set up a series of routes in my new Explorist XL with Discover Aus Top maps for a holiday and used mainly point to point. Sometimes when I activated a route it asked me if I wanted P2P or "Street Route". I selected street route a few times just to see how it works but I can't seem to get it to do a street route when i want it to and don't why it gives me the option sometimes (or it did, it hasn't for some time) but not others.

Manual does not explain this.

thanks if you can help

Hi James,

DAST only does P2P. My XL has never shown me an option for Street Routing.

I know that Next Destination sell Australian street routing maps for Magellan so maybe the XL offers this message in anticipation.

Well that's really strange because I have seen mine do it. It has no voice obviously but it gives little pictures at the bottom for the screen. When you select it you get a ascreen which says "calculating route" and then bingo. You look at it on the map and it shows the route in green.

I'll call the shop and ask them and get back.

I called them and got the explanation. You can create a street route using Mapssend on your PC and then the handheld can decifer it.
