TwoNav is very good, but of course TwoNav comes in various hardware formats, such as 5", 6", 7" dash (windscreen) mounted navigators, handheld navigators, laptop, iPhone and Simbian and soon to be released in dash units.

The advantages of TwoNav over any GPS on the market are it's map format flexibility and ease of use. For example, many of you may have a Hema Navigator, it uses two programs for on-road and off-road programs, which means two major issues; you can't view the on-road and off-road at the same time (overlayed) and you have to learn two programs. The VMS range use and only use proprietory map formats unless you use OziExplorer but that defeats the purpose of buying a VMS. TwoNav is one easy program (interface) for both map types (Raster & Vector).

You may think not seeing on-road and off-road at the same time is not important but with track/street/fire trail etc data as found at openstreetmap.org or what's donated at gpsaustralia.net on-road has a different meaning. Vector does not just mean on-road it also means off-road maps too and TowNav is the only product in the world that can utilise these two worldwide map formats.

If you have Dept. Environment & Conservation maps or other data from ESRI or Mapinfo it can be converted by CompeGPS Land (CompeGPS is the parent company of TwoNav) and used on a TwoNav product such as the TwoNav 5 or TwoNav Laptop or the handheld TwoNav Aventura, as examples.

You may not have heard of NearMap, free aerial maps similar to google Earth maps but better resolution but limited in locations at the moment. NearMap is only free to individuals and not government agencies and competitors or gain monetary benefits from using their product.

NearMaps and Google Earth maps can be displayed on the TwoNav products.

twonav.com.au will be up and running soon.

    hope this helps
