County Stickers - worth fixing?

I'm slowly refurbishing the project Isuzu
One question, the decals on the passenger door have faded almost completly & the rest are not exactly flash.
I was thinking of simply removing the whole lot
I was also thinking, being an Isuzu, it would more likely go to an enthusiast come sell time.

Does anybody think I would lessen the value having it plain white??
I can get replacements from England or maybe a decal maker locally, but I reckon it will be exxy.
Thanks
David

I thought the same as you about originality etc. I got a quote from a pin striper to replace my County decals, it was $220 including the two Landrover stickers on the rear. He took photos of both sides and took measurements too.

Only problem is I lost his business card

I hated the stripes on my UK spec 83 110. Twenty minutes with a pneumatic eraser and they were gone.

Unless you are trying to make the car exactly original or about to enter it in a concours d'elegance then the answer would be "No". Personally I prefer them (it gives it a real eighties feel & helps show others you DON'T have a Pretender) but if they are looking old and tatty best remove them.

if your driving a shed class landy and you're worried about stickers, you're driving the wrong class of landy.

besides if its got the suzi it'd probably just shake them off anyway.

I really like the look of some of the newer defenders, but I have an 85...and even today a guy came up at the servo and said great truck don't see many anymore...and that's it...the numbers are going down...how many other 80's, be it jackaroo or even troopies do you see....the decals really distinguish the county....my stickers are good, but if they where ratty I would get some made up...

I had two people ask if mine was for sale at All British Day today, and mine isn't the most presentable County and far from the best looking 110 around

P.S. apparently either All4x4 or English Off Road have the County stickers in a few different colours available

I went to a paint shop and got some matching colour in spray pack cans and painted mine on. The old ones were tatty and it was easy to mask it off as you could clearly see the lines where the stickers had come off. Much harder wearing and you wouldnt know the difference except it doesnt have the "County" insignia on the front doors.
