roadworthy

hi all

in my 85' county im missing the 2nd row bench seat, just wondering if this will affect me getting a roadworthy without it.

thanx LRO jr

p.s moved a 2.5 tonne boat today, checking whether there is any weak points in the back end of the chassis but all seems well.

For a roadworthy you need all seats and seat belts in that it is plated for...EG...3...5..7etc

Hopeall goes well for you

Ms HH is correct. Why not try it and see if he notices. If he does then you will have to visit a wrecker or borrow a seat and belts. I do hope your compliance plate says 5 seats and not 9 or 10.

As you purchased vehicle from another state, won't the qld office want to inspect it when you get rego ??

When I purchased mine from nsw and then tried to get rego up here, the nsw papers said it was a 5 seater. But qld had it previously registered as a 9 seater The fact it only had 5 seats made no difference, they wanted to see 9 seats and belts.
After much arguing, I had to get a compliance plate fitted stating it was a 5 seater. Much cheaper than extra seats and belts which I did not want.

Maybe you should borrow your dad's rear seat until you get it sorted

If you need a rear seat for the roadworthy, you can swing by my place and borrow one. It's out of the car at the moment (along with just about everything else!). You will still need the belts though.

Interestingly my (1986) compliance plate has no seating number, but describes it as "Omnibus".

Don’t know what the QLD inspection stations are like, but I have removed all the rear seating in my SIII (including the troop carrier style ones) and fitted in a bed, and no one has ever worried about the lack of seats or belts when I go to get a NSW pink slip every year. Compliance plate still says 10 seater. I know that it technically shouldn’t pass, but instead of going to the hassle of putting it all back in just for the inspection, its worth seeing if they care – and so far no one has. They always seem to be more worried that the lights and blinkers are working.
