    Isuzu PAS pump rebuild

Has anyone done a rebuild of an Isuzu PAS pump?
I need to swap the guts from a good pump to another housing, as the good pump only has the pressure connection on the side and the other pump has the standard front outlet like the factory Isuzu LR.
Unfortunately the one with the correct housing looks like its been running disconnected/dry for some time - hence the need to put the good internals into it. Both are the "small" size truck pumps.

The Isuzu parts manual I've got shows all the parts/seals etc apart from the plain bearing/bush that the shaft runs in (other end of the shaft is a ball bearing).
Anyone have a P/N for that bush or any info to offer on replacing it with a generic one?

You can get a seal kit from Isuzu.
I know whay you mean about the ports.
My pump failed the impellor broke up and I got one off a truck with the 4bd1 engine I and swoped the parts over worked fine.

I've already got the seal kit ordered. Around $20 for the kit with all o-rings and the shaft seal.
Pretty sure the bush isn't part of that kit though.

no the bush is not in the kit but you should be able to get one either off them or someone with a lathe should be able to make you one.
How bad is your bush worn?

Just to tidy up this thread...
As expected, the bush isn't in the seal kit, and its not listed as a separate part. Seems if you wanted to order one you need to order the housing which comes with the bush already installed in it.

I ended up removing the good bush from my other pump and installing it into the replacement housing.

The seal kit is easy to install, just a simple matter of disassembling the pump and reassembling with the new o-rings and seal from the kit. No rocket science or special tools required.

In case the pump vanes happen to fall on the bench before you get a good look at them, it might be useful to know that the rounded edges go towards the outside - you can see them in this photo:

The spline isn't fully engaged in the photo - its because the lower plate has a big spring behind it - everything compresses down in the housing when you fit the outer cover on.

If the shaft is worn and you decide to speedi-sleeve it as per Isuzubob's tutorial HERE the seal and mounting o-ring are in the seal kit, so the only extra part you need is the speedi-sleeve itself.
