Dave answered you question correctly, but to provide additional info, the high range ratio in your 300Tdi transfer case is lower than what most would like behind a 4BD1 or 4BD1T.

This is because a 300Tdi needs that ration due to low torque at low engine rpm. The torque curve for a 4BD1 or 4BD1T is much different, and best suits a cruise speed about 1800 to 2000 rpm, when the 300Tdi is only just starting to pull.

Sorry, I don't think I understood your first post correctly and thought you wanted to replace your 300Tdi with an Isuzu 4BD1.

Re-reading your posts, I'm still not clear what you mean.

Do you want to put a gearbox from a 4BD1 behind your 300Tdi?

Is that gearbox an LT95 (4 speed, with direct drive top gear)?

If so why (it seems a strange thing to want to do)?

The Isuzu MSA-5G 5 speed is 0.776:1 5th gear, so at 100km/h will give you ~1800 rpm with standard diffs (3.54).
4th gear will be about ~2250 rpm at 100km/h.

3.0 diffs would be too high.

Surely the diff ratios that is in a late Isuzu County that is fitted with an Isuzu and Lt85 and a Lt 230 will work.
