    sundays effort

    last weekend i gave the red rattler a good degrease and rough clean up as best i could with my used to be high pressure washer and removed about 3 bucket loads of dirt mud rocks and sand.

    this got rid of a lot of stuff but not the stubborn chunks, road grime and oily ground in crap..

    i remembered that a while ago a someone on the site mentioned cleaning up under their truck after a weekends playing using truckwash sprayed on and left overnight then hosed down.

    i tried this out this morning at 6am.

    smart fella hey...

    made a mix of 50/50 heavy duty truckwash and water in a spray pack

    i sprayed it on all over, top bottom and underneath. gave it a light rub with a well used scothbrite pad and left it sit for 2.5 hours as i wasnt sure how it would affect whats left of the duco and then hosed it off.

    apart from me being friggen cold, a tad damp around the edges and looking like an absolute idiot out on the drive way in shorts and a singlet, this worked an absolute treat!

    on the duco, road grime, soot, grease, diesel and whatever else was stuck to it just washed away where ever i could get a good shot at it...

    underneath it did a dam fine job as well.. an overnight wait would have it looking way way good i reckon... the hardset chunky bits just fell away as it was so the extra time would really sort it..

    it worked so well i did a lot of the vinyl trim with a lessor mixture and a 30 minute wait and rinsed off with a wet rag and i am impressed with the results..

    truck would have to be 100kg lighter with all the crap i have washed off it

    cleaned and adjusted the back brakes while at it and got decent pedal back as well..

    i even dared touch a mudguard with a bit of cut and polish...

    yep greased them as well as the steering gear....

    into it again removed the roof and rear window panels










    removed the old towbar and trailer power bits...










    damaged hard to get at bits :P
