Dynamic Stability Control?
From the LR website:
Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) reduces engine power and applies ABS braking to individual wheels to help maintain control, should it detect a loss of lateral grip that could occur in a turn.
DSC button what does this do?
DSC button what does this do?
		Forumites,
Just to the left of the Hazard warning light switch (which hopefully I'll never have to use) is a small black button with DSC written on it. I can't find any reference anywhere as to what this is. When I press the button nothing seems to change. I'm sure there's a very simple explanation. Thanks for any assistance rendered.

Thanks Ron, I knew it had to be something simple. "Couldn't see the wood for the trees". Still getting used to the "ever so helpful" website and the vehicle, recent new purchase, very impressed so far. Looks to be a bit of a nightmare servicing wise, sure I'll figure it out. Got the springs and bullbar to fit this weekend should be an adventure in itself.............

Make sure you turn it OFF for any off road work requiring momentum as per the instructions in the manual, ie sand, mud. If not you'll find as I have, you go nowhere quickly.
Been there done that. First off road trip I couldn't work out why I didn't have the power to get up a hill. I was checking that I was flooring the correct pedal, I was still in low range, etc. when I noticed the orange light on the instrument panel, so I pressed the DSC button and it shot up the hill.
I leave it on when off roading unless I think it will cause a problem. I think I'd like it to kick in and help should I over cook a corner on a gravel road.

PS DSC is latin for kills all fun.
Just remember that it never actually fully turns off. The switch just reduces intervention.
I'm glad im not the only one to make a fool of myself on the sand dunes the first week i had the disco. I couldnt understand why my car wouldnt make it up when my old 2.8 TD patrol on 33"s used to walk up......
Then i found the DSC button
This is great i thought i was the only idiot who managed to get seriously stuck on my first beach attempt. Dont they know guys never read manuals!
think in my case it was more arrogance, came from the old 3L Toyota surf that would just fly all over everything on the beach to the D3 and thought, heck it is a Disco it should romp it in!!
Oh not dropping tyre pressure did not help, should have remembered that old trick.
