When I did a LPG conversion on my VY commodore in 05, we got lpg for UNDER 30c/l......now it's 90c! That's just plain stupid! It just makes the governments comments about encouraging efficient/green fuels absolutely stupid. We were thinking of getting a VZ wagon to tow the boat with, and put it on lpg,but not now!

Not just a phenomena down under chaps!

Our LPG prices have pretty much done the same - going up proportionately far more than petrol or diesel.

Also the price variance between supermarket prices and local forecourts means you start having to detour a few miles each fill up to get a better deal... before the difference was only a 2 or 3 pence, now it can be 8 - 12 pence!

Current prices at an average forecourt in the UK are (just to make you all feel slightly better!!) - ULP £1.38 (AUD$2.05), Diesel £1.45 (AUD$2.12) and LPG £0.78 (AUD$1.15)

So anyway, after 20 years of running a Land Rover V8 as a daily drive, 15 years of which were on LPG, I finally switched to diesel and stuck a Td5 in my Defender.

TBH, not regretting it one bit. No more hunting around for the best LPG prices, just fill up at somewhere average that is convenient. Saving about £10 per week as the fuel consumption is more than double (12 miles a gallon on LPG, 27 on diesel). The Td5 has loads of torque and gets off the line quicker than my old 3.9 V8, bit slow at top end speeds, but for my commute runs thats fine. Sounds OK, but I do miss the V8 burble!

Here we go again, just like the auto parts we are getting ripped off, so are you all going to buy from the UK. OH UK prices are dearer!
It was publicised many years ago that LPG will rise steadily as the tarrifs would change.
We live in the best county in the world, we have high wages, we have some higher living standards, all in all it's a few silvers extra a tank. Why the hysteria?

That is all very true if you have a secure well paid job, which many don't and won't in the near future once JoolLiars carbon tax is implemented.
Best country in the World? Certainly, but it's a shame not too many of us can afford the fuel to actually get out there and see it for ourselves.

Don't worry. If the Greens have their way, we won't be allowed to anyway.

What you say is right, but we choose to drive fuel guzzling vehicles, so it is an added expense.
I by no means have a secure well paid job.I just had to bring it up as, if I had posted it first then inc would have a dig and say I was complaining again..

The unemployed, pensioners and low income earners cannot afford nice new fuel efficient cars, so are stuck with "gas guzzlers" or shanks pony.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

They may vote...but they don't contribute $quillions to the political parties to keep them in power...

Look at the money trail... see who benefits and/or who gets it...
