I am looking to organise a social day trip just for Series (leaf spring) Land Rovers and their owners (and passengers). The trip is for club members and potential club members who might be hesitant to bring their Series Land Rovers on normal LROCB club trips.

I’ve done a recce of the route which starts at Woodford. It follows mostly back roads to a lookout outside of Maleny for morning tea. More back roads will take us to Mapleton for lunch, possibly at the Mapleton Tavern.

There is no four wheel driving on this trip (maybe on the next such trip). Plenty of time will be set aside for talking at the stops.

The date has been set: Sunday 22 November

Meet at Woodford in the vicinity of the bakery at 8:00 am for an 8:30 am start.

It will be a trip along mostly back roads - both sealed and unsealed. No 4WDing this time. But we can talk about future adventures over morning tea and lunch.

I plan to have a lengthy stop for morning tea either at Mary Cairncross Park or Howell's Lookout. Then we will do some more back road touring before lunch at the Montville Tavern.

Hi,

I'd just like to reiterate that we welcome visitors on this trip (in Series LRs, of course).

In the spirit of the Series LR, main communications will be on Channel 5 on the 27MHz CB. Although most of us will also have UHF CBs of some description as well. (Note: having a CB is not a prerequisite for coming on the trip).

Hope to see many Series LRs on the 22nd.
