05my - 06my have grey on grey &
07my - 08my+ have silver on grey.
Its just the color scheme through the vehicle.
The later vehicle's have the silver (bright finish) throughout the vehicle.
Air vents, horn buttons & a few other little niceties.
The model year (my) comes from the VIN number NOT the compliance plate
eg: S A L L A A A 1 3 8 A 123456. The 10th digit as highlighted tells what model yr regardless of anything else.

OK, forgive me, but what is "grey on grey" vs "silver on grey"? Are we talking button colour vs surround, or surround vs metal silver strip?

For example, which colour would the ones shown in the D3.co.uk thread be classed as?

Mine has black buttons on a dark grey surround with a silver vertical strip, which is what I think the picture shows (Though the grey could actually be lighter and not actually bleached out by flash as it looks to be)
