Front Anti Roll Bar Drop Link ?

I have noticed a dull knocking coming from under the car which I tough was either the exhaust or maybe something loose in the spare tyre well. Had a look and not the case. I have done a quick search on possible causes and have hit upon the Front Anti Roll Bar Drop Link can cause a a dull knock if worn. Before I get under the car with a big bar is there a simple test for this component

sorry bro, i dont think so, i reccon having a gental pry with a bar is probably the easest way to have a look, mind you , you could go to some one like pedders where they do an inspection for like 15 bucks and ask them to spacificly look at the anti roll bar ? i think elbo greese is probabaly the first step. it could be worse some first steps are remove engine or transmition. lol

let us know what you find too !

jeff.

Thumbs down anti roll bar drop link

I have had this problem. Clunk noise coming from the rear suspension. I decided to replace the bottom arm bushes and the anti roll drop link bushes. When I disconnected the drop link connection to the anti roll bar the swivel ball joint connection to the diff flopped all over the place and made a dull clunk sound. It was bone dry. no grease just full of dust and rust powder. Now I have to find 4 drop link units Hmmmm

Is your car a P38, Sounds like you are describing the rear suspension of a Classic?

I had a similar dull clunk on occasions. I asked the mechanics to check it out and found that the suspension (fitted about 9mths ago) bolts needed a bit of tightening. Solved.

Definitely worth having a suspension place check it out and tighten it all up for you...
