Lost power to internals HEVAC, windows etc

This car has the odd electrical gremlin and today the entire interior feed went off.

The HEVAC and Sound system and electric windows all had no power, the gauges and gear selector lights still worked though and the car drove fine

Turning it off and starting it again solved the issue, but I am sure it will recur

Any ideas where I should start looking for this fault? Maxi Fuse maybe?

Off top of head suggestion, but surely that's related to the feed from the engine bay fuse box to the BeCM. Best look at rave though, to see where the commonality is. Have you had the volt meter out yet? I'd be checking those two wires on the side of the BeCM - that take their feed via the maxi fuses.

Thought I'd read that Shirley had put a new fuse box in the car.

Let me know if you want to try a known good spare fuse box that I have.

Agree with Sean...also "turning on and off" could be a relay ... but am not sure which one... must admit to struggling at times with the ETM circuits...should have paid more attention at school...

you need a becm repair or fit an external relay and cut into the original loom.

    Hi Rupert

Do you offer a BECM refurbishment service?

Although I have another BECM available, it is likely to have issues as well.

I would imagine that all the relays and possibly the MOSFETS need replacing and if there are any electrolytics involved then they would certainly be candidates for replacement.

    Regards

i only unlock and edit the security information (lockset etc) with easy fixes to relays and boards, because if they have been damp (as most have) the printed circuits carry on corroding under the varnish, so every 6 months there are a new set of problems. Lee at LAB Electronics is the guy for more major repairs.
