EAS Compressor mounts...HANDY HINT

Over the last 12 months or so, one of the compressor mounts has been progressively deteriorating and for the past few months has actually been sheared through...no worries: I just tightened it up waiting for replacement mounts to become available at a reasonable price ...the trade off is the increased vibration...

A few days ago I took them all out, the others were going bad also...same issue. I packed the void around vertical brass bush with Loctite "BlueMax" RTV ... waited for it to cure properly and refitted the mounts.

Result: Compressor still able to vibrate on the mounts but they are much stronger and the noise transmission through to the cabin is barely noticeable -certainly no louder than the ABS pump... as short term fix it's OK. Long term wear... will report in due course

Vibration can also be reduced by fitting a few fibre washers beneath the EAS housing. As you may see from the pic below, my EAS housing was vibrating against the body until I put the fibre washers in to lift it just a few mm off the body.

Cheers, Paul.
