Gawd, that Thruxton's nice!

I rode my son's XJR1300 for the first time earlier this week when I picked it up from the bike shop.

My last ride was this - my CBR1000F (since sold):

Nice setup there....

How did it feel riding this week...

You gotta love the feeling of freedom it gives.....

Only thing that tops it (IMO) is gliding (not hang glinding - real gliding)

Yep, the CBR was a nice ride. Bloody awful on gravel roads though.

It felt strange having not ridden for a while. I was very tentative cornering on the wet roads. The XJR has motocross bars (why are they called bars when there is only one? ) so it feels weird. I'll refit the original bars if I can find it in Lee's stuff. I know I packed up a new bar in his motorcycle stuff. I'll hunt it out.

Glinding?

I haven't been gliding for over 30 years. I know that 'cos I have a pic of Elisabeth getting into the Blanik and she wasn't pregnant with Lee - that was about the last time I flew. Maybe I should take it up again.

Hey guys,

Just a quick note that I have decided to sell my Hayabusa. Mainly because I feel its time to have a break from riding. see below.

Quote:
Hi All.
Time has come for a full life change. As such after 7 years of Hayabusa fun & 3 more years before that of riding, I will be stepping off the bike & hanging the leathers up for a while & will be doing a 4WD trip in to the Aussie bush.

Bike Details:
Owners: 2 in total - me & my old man. I have owned it for 7 years & since it had 13,000km on the clock.
KM's?: Just flipped over to 70,000km

Mods & Extras:
  • Full 4 to 2o to 1 titanium system with Yoshi RS3 can
  • Manual Cam chain adjuster fitted
  • GPS mod
  • Air box mod
  • Rear hugger
  • Original exhaust system with cans + I have a set of Micron cans
  • Braided front break lines & clutch line
  • Metal Gear front disc's
  • Woodcraft Racing stator cover (Original included with sale)
  • Crash knobs fitted (Spare carbon fibre look-alike knobs as well)
  • 2 x DB screens in dark tint & the second in full silver (Bling!) plus I have the original
  • Steel rear sub frame fitted in lieu of the original as they tend to crack
  • Tank protector (Tank bra with busa logo pained silver)
  • Tank bag with covers
  • Head light protector
  • Front & Rear race stands
  • Full bike cover to keep the dust off!!
  • Set of spare plastics - had planned to use for Phillip island track days
  • Full set of spare decals - light reflective & carbon fibre look
  • Tool kit & all manuals, paper work & digital work shop manuals provided

Service History:
  • Full service history with papers, dyno history & mods history. Serviced by 10/10ths, Petes pit stop, Balls & Phil @ PTR ONLY.
  • Injectors rebuilt & flow tested @ 65,000km
  • Only failure has been the starter motor clutch. All components kept up 100%, last dyno read out was 186hp at the rear wheel!
Problems:
  • None to report, paint work is a little chipped which I had planned on getting fixed, front rim has a slight ding, nothing major.

Pics:
Here is the latest one taken 1.5 weeks ago - Note that the stickers have not been "cleared over" as such the RaZ Racing stickers will be professionally removed, located on the front wheel fairing & the bottom of the rear belly pan.

Others can be found at this link: Index of /~razz0r/busa

I have a few bikes, see the pics, but the best of all I sold last year, the one in my avatar, after finishing fourth in the Aussie Title, to save up for a newer one.

I also own a couple of road bikes and do a lot of ks on one and not a lot on the other. I cant find a pic of my GSX-R750.

I have found one in England I want (the blue one) and I am tossing up whether to fly over to look or trust someone else with looking at it. I suppose if I go over I could buy up on Land Rover bits too, MUD console etc.

Jeff

My Contribution

Fergy

This little thing si just sooooooo much fun. I've had em all and only brought this being opportunistic, thinking it would give me the ****s being underpowered and being a semi naked.

Boy was I wrong! Its a hoot, Goes like a cut snake, weighs about 165Kg, handles like it is on rails and very comfortable. not to mention sounds seeeexxxxxyyyyyy

I called it Fergy cause it pulls like a tractor, n I'm partial to redheads (Dutchess of York)

bikeless at the mo

bikeless but not scooterless, wife has a Bolwell Jolie I'm teaching her to ride. Move her up to a geared bike once she is confident with 2 wheels. LOOOOVe the outfit Jeff, back in 94 got invited to a club day at Wakefield park, got to swing on post classics and moderns and was hooked. i ended up having to buy the set of leathers i borrowed of a mate for the day. I got my hand up if there is an outfit somewhere that needs a swinger.
have always been a fan of inline 4"s the old ones. haven't had one for about 5 years now.
better not read this thread again, too much drool in the keyboard.
