    Fitted a stainless snorkel....

    Hi everyone,

I made this snorkel out of 316 stainless as a cheaper alternative to buying a new plastic one. Hope you like it! Sorry about the picture quality.

    Cheers.

The pipe has a 90ish degree bend under the guard and it nearly pokes out under the brake master cylinder. It is then connected to the existing ducting with rubber bends.

Yes this should look familiar. I used the photo's of yours as inspiration. Turns out you are a lot better with a tig . Practice makes perfect. I hope you don't mind me pinching your idea .

I'm happy to be inspirational It looks great, but you didn't have to go to the trouble of painting your car the same colour too

A tig would be nice.......mine was actually done with sticks, and a lot of grinding and linishing.
Might do another one for my 120 when I restore it.

    Cheers, Murray

I used some 3" tube that I pilfered from some shop display stands and picked up some mandrel bends and ram at a swapmeet, and had to buy one bend new. About a metre of 3" reinforced hose from an industrial supplies and some hose clamps. All up cost was under $100.

I used a meter or so of 316 3'' pipe from ali-stain in thornton ($30ish) and 2, 316 3'' bends from the big blue steel shed (can't remember the name) in thornton for about $40 each.

The ram head I won off evilbay for a staggering $15.50. All up it cost a bit more but it was what I could find at the time.

    Cheers.
