Salisbury front

Sand blasted the diff over Xmas. Finally got it fitted over the weekend with Dad's help. Bloody heavy bugger. Haven't got any photos of it installed yet. Looks like i need to pull the sump off and cut and shut to get clearance sorted. Lots of fabrication over the next few months!

Cheers Gaz

Would of been lot easier if using electric fan but wanted to use original fan as i dont want any cooling issues.

Nice fab work, are you a sheety?

Hurry up and finish already

Got the diff from fleabay in the UK. It is a direct drop in unit and same track as a banjo.

Greetings from the USA guys. I have to say that this is going to be amazing!! Which of the Duramax motors is it? I would venture a guess and say that it is the LBZ due to the six speed Allison. I have spent a large amount of time working on them so if you want some more ponies out of it let me know. Depending on the year of the motor you can easily add 160-holly hell hp... at the wheels. You planing on doing mods to the motor and or tranni? I am so very envious of you man. I have a 2000 Disco that I am planing on doing the swap on when i have the coin to do it. Keep us updated with the progress, I cannot wait to see video of this beast in action.

Yep it is the LBZ. I am envoius of you guys over there having big diesels. We get some decent petrol v8's but generally only small diesels bar the TDV8 of the new rangie and landcrapper. How are you getting more grunt out of the Duramax's? Tuning or turbo set ups? Cant wait to get mine on the road. I better get out in the shed and do some more work on it! Gunna be over in the US August/September but will be on the other side of the country. Got any info on your 2000 disco? let us know.

Cheers,
Gaz

More plumbing

Bit of an update. Have been plugging away at the toy when i have had the time just haven't done an update for ages. Most of the under bonnet plumbins is done in regards to the intercooler and radiator. Just a couple of small things to work out like over flow/surge tanks, but i need to get the chevy manuals out and see how theirs are set up.
I am trying to get everything manufactured then pull it all apart to paint it.

Cheers Gaz

Look. No Vents

Sacrilege some people would say by me welding up the vents, but i don't care. Wanted a decent A/C so grafting the later dash in makes the vents redundant. Been a bugger trying to get it all lined up okay as have had no measurements to work off, just a few grainy photos. Have started welding in the firewall where i had to get clearance around the turbo manifolds. Puma Fan blower needs to be modified so need to get a plastic glue gun to modify that to. All good fun

dash mod

Have had the dash in and out about a 100 times trying to get everything lined up. Folded up a new steel trans hump as this picks up the bottom of the A/C evaporator and the dash. Another full weekend and i should have most of the interior mods done.

Welded up the hole for the clutch and driver side floor for turbo dump pipe. need to get some smaller mig wire as struggling at the moment trying to get the juice right down. Also stripped 99% of the wiring out. Going to dump the rover wiring and adapt this to the chevy fuse box under the mudguard wing.

Cheers

Gaz
