it now starts and stops

After removing the mud wasp nests from the carbie and cleaning, removing the rat eaten spark plug leads replacing them with new and in the right sequence, together with the contact points, fuel pump and master brake cylinder. It now starts and stops.
I have decided to leave it in its post service modified configuration, but would like to have the winch operational, the rear rollers were removed to fit the tipping body.
Does anyone know where I may be able to source the parts needed?

Thanks for your post's to date, they have been very helpfull

Sounds most like a fuel issue --- are you starting on choke? how long is it running before it stops?? are you pumping accelerator to start?? if so this is the fuel it is starting on and the main jet and idle are not letting fuel in -- if you keep pumping Accel, wit it keep firing?? will it run on choke??

I thought he meant it starts (as in in the engine starts) and stops (as in the brakes now work) Ray, but I could be wrong...

I love the Inters... One day...

Good to hear all is well. I can source all the bits you want, but might be a bit far away if you are in WA (from memory). Need to have some geographical reference in profile for members closer to assist.

To dredge up an old topic, the ARN for this vehicel just surfaced. it was arn 171-188 and there is no notes about it being anything other than a general service vehicle. An interesting afteer army modification all the same.

A Mk3 Inter, it's only an old army truck, why would anyone want to restore that????

There are much nicer more comfortable trucks on the road these days, and the old engines are the cause of all the greenhouse effect and global warming - better take up the Government's $3,000 old gas guzzler buyback and buy a nice new plastic thingo!

I have 2 teaspoon tipper bodies if anyone is interested in converting a Mk3 into a tipper as shown below.

This is a photo of the unit that i'm talking about. I've not yet gotten far enough through the Mk.3 ARN's to find out what your rego number was to see if it is the same vehicle yet.

it does look very very similar however. definitely restore it!
