word of mouth is the best way to find them. the reason that they are hard to find is that the army still has most of them.
Although I hear that they will start selling them off soon.

Hmm, looks a beaut. As far as it being a former WS they must have done more than a body swap because I thought they had shock absorbers and the associated mounts on the chassis and spring plates... Also, what's those two holes on diamond shaped plates on the front outer chassis 'riggers'? They look like the female part of a cam-lock fastener. I'm not critisising by any means, I'd snavel it in a heartbeat - just noticed a few things........

I have found the plug and sockets available from a chain store called BCF (Boating Camping Fishing). These were $3.95 ea, incl plug. They are made from chrome plated brass, which could be blasted back to the brass to allow it to weather back to a bronze finish. Chrome can be a B***** to paint, but blasted brass would hold etch primer better, and if you chip the piant, you would only reveal brass, not gleaming chrome.
Replacement plastic plugs are available with black washers, but they wouldn't let me swap the red washers! ![]()

![]() It might be easier to have the chrome removed at a plating shop, rather than blast it. Looking at your photos, makes me wonder if the red washer isn't the same size as the black ones found on drain taps for 20 litre drums, or on home brew fermenters. Might be worth looking in the supermarket, or hardware store ![]() Cheers Charlie |
