No 5 Trailer.

Checked out a No 5 trailer today. Is in good nic apart from having an altered tow hitch. The bloke is a boiler maker and made his own hitch set up. He hasn't cut the end of the tow bar, all he has done is use the existing bolts. The original hitch ended up with a mate that used it on a trailer he later sold.

It will come home next weekend.

Looks fairly clean and appears to have the small serial # plate on the front left chassis.

They tend to rust where the mudguard is welded to the vertical strengtheners of the tub. It's not a hard fix, however.

Hi all,

I had a look at this one weeks ago, the trailer frame number doesn't match the ARN on the rear. This is according to the trailer ARN list page.......

Peter,

Stuff up with what was written on it pre auction?, or a Bitza Peter.

Apart from tow ring being gone, looked quite good. Also looks rather late out of service.

Still worth picking up you think?

I'd think provided he's not asking an arm and a leg it would be worth it. The lunette rings are still available - I can't recall where from but there was a thread about 12 months ago. On the ARN list I discovered that my workshop trailer started life as a No 5. I imagine that chassis might easily change bodies, in or after service. But I think you know that

G'day 1069gs

NOW, That is a nice trailer, and GOOD value the chassis Number would give you it's original ARN, but the current one would be worth keeping a record of, and if it's not welcome at home I have spare space here, and I will be only to happy to have it
