i'd have to question wether the one on EBAY is genuine or not, ite body looks right, but the front guards dont, even for a proper series 3, it looks like the front panels have been cut as opposed to the side panels being cut differently to the suffix G IIA's, plus as a series 3, it would have the normal front guards anyway

G'day Sprint

It is a Series 3 1976 model so it may have been ex army, BUT, it has the front guards cut like 2a,has S3 dash Holden Motor, has 2a rear w/shop body, with dog cage, No I don't think there is much original on it, as far as I know there were no production Ser 3's in Workshop form

cheers

exactly what i said uncle, but heres my breakdown of the errors

1: front face of S3 guards has been cut, unlike the G-suffix IIA's that had the sides cut to a different profile to match the depth of a S3 headlight panel, but thats all irrelevant considering S3's didnt have the cut cuards
2: it certainly looks like a workshop body, but the rear cab panel doesnt have the cutout for the canopy stick (?) box
3: gardening tool brackets, brush bar and blackout switch panel are all MIA

Attached is a picture of a series 111 MV (Maintainence Vehicle) this is ARN 33-883. I looked at this vehicle a few years ago and it has since been sold on. I was data plated as a GS.

methinks its a bitsa too,
no ser 3 booster on the brake master, an after market on the guard inner
the throttle linkage goes along the top of the firewall similar to that on a ser 3 civvy
battery box in engine bay, the ser3 4 cylinder civvys are there.

Its using the original radiator which looks like a 4cyl one.
the data plates are in the wrong spot, whether the nos correspond I don;t know

thats my take on it.

Hi, have some photos of a series three which i believe is one of the 25 maintenence vehicles listed in the ARN's. Unfortunatly the photos I took of the data plate is too blurry to make out the chassis no. but is a ' TRUCK, LIGHT, CAB AND CHASSIS, G.S.'.
Hope to make it one of mine soon...
